Windows 10 (1809 and later) RSAT Install

Microsoft is changing things again. If you have WSUS running in your environment you may not be able to install the familiar RSAT tools (at least not without a little work). I’ve found a couple of sites that talk about disabling WSUS temporarily so you can install the RSAT tools using “Feature On Demand” option. However, that didn’t work for me.

If you have access to Volume License site, you can download the Feature On Demand ISO. Make sure to get the correct version for your OS.

Mount the ISO and then open a Powershell window and run the following:
Get-WindowsCapability -online | ? name -like “*RSAT*” | add-windowscapability -online -limitaccess -source d:
Change the source to your drive letter.
